SHEETING & PLYWOOD
STRUCTUAL PLYWOOD
The Bunker and the Uptons stores carry a range of structural plywood that can be used for building purposes or where an Australian standard strength rating has been specified by a builder or architect. We carry Pine or hardwood structural ply, the decorative Hoop pine and Birch plywood are also structurally rated, where you may need a good finish along with a structurally rated product.
FORM WORK & FILM FACED PLYWOOD
Form plywood is primarily used for the building of structures to assist the laying of concrete. It consists of plywood coated with a high density layer of phenlic resin, which makes a very hard and water resistant surface. This surface coating laid over a high quality hard wood ply and A bond glue, results in a product that is very versatile. Film faced plywood also have many other uses where a strong pre-finished sheet product is needed. We carry structural and nonstructural film faced products in a range of thicknesses from 9mm up to 25mm.
MARINE PLYWOOD
Marine Plywood is mainly used where there is a chance of exposure to water or moisture. Because of the quality of Marine plywood, it can also be used for joinery purposes as the faces are clean and free of knots.
Our Marine ply is high-grade plywood manufactured from Meranti Hardwood using ‘A’ bond Glue. Both face and back are free from knots and have a beautiful grain. Coupled with its durability it is suitable for use for anything from marine situations to furniture and cabinet making. This product can also be used to clad internal and external walls giving your project a unique look.
NON STRUCTUAL PLYWOOD
Non-structural Plywood is a name given to plywood that does not carry a structural rating. For many applications, a structural rating is not required, for internal lining of walls or general-purpose building applications for example. Under this NON-structural banner, we also have internal sheeting like Luan ply (a hardwood ply with interior glue), Caravan ply (Paper overlaid Plywood with interior glue, Bending ply and some other speciality plywoods.
DECORATIVE PLYWOOD
Decorative plywood is used where a high-quality finish is required and the sheets will be seen up close, possibly with a clear finish to expose the timber. These types of sheets are commonly used in joinery applications and for the lining of wall and ceilings in houses and commercial buildings.
The two most common products in this range are Hoop pine plywood and Birch Plywood. Both products have a light color and high-quality face veneers.
Marine plywood can also be used in decorative applications, the hardwood Marine ply is made from Meranti and has a beautiful timber pattern and free from knots and putty, these sheets are suitable when you are looking for a timer that is darker in color.
